Meet Holly

I’m an artist, poet and traveller with a deep-rooted love for capturing the subtle and fleeting beauty of the world around us. I’ve been drawing for as long as I can remember, whether it was the back pages of school textbooks or the scribbled masterpieces of my younger years; art has always been my way of making sense of the world. My creative journey began in the quiet corners of Hertfordshire, where I spent my formative years studying art. Although my education provided a foundation, I have always strayed from convention. Even then, I was far more captivated by the stories art could tell than the rules that governed its creation.

Portraiture was my first love, and I poured countless hours into charcoal and pencil drawings that sought to capture the depth and emotion of the human spirit. However, I never confined myself to tradition. My approach to art has always been self-taught, a constant exploration of what it means to create. Over the years, I’ve drifted between abstraction and realism, searching for a balance that feels authentic; a way to merge the rawness of emotion with the beauty of nature’s intricate details.

For the past two years, my home has been a van–and my studio–blessed with the inspiring ever-changing landscapes outside its windows. From coastlines bathed in golden light to the quiet stillness of early-morning forests, I’ve found inspiration in the rhythm of the road and the beauty of the everyday. This journey has reshaped not only my art but also my understanding of creativity, teaching me to see the extraordinary in the ordinary.
